1. Name of post: Junior Technical Superintendent
Number of vacancy: 22 vacancies
Distribution of posts is as follows: 18 for the unreserved category, 1 for Scheduled Caste (SC), and 3 for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS).
Age Limit: The maximum age limit for this position is 30 years. However, there is no upper age limit for regular employees of IIT Guwahati. Contractual employees will receive age relaxation as per the Institute's norms.
Pay Scale: Pay Matrix Level-6 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC).
Educational Qualification:
- Chemical Engineering: Candidates should have a BE/B.Tech./Post Graduation in Chemical Engineering, or a Diploma in Chemical Engineering with 3 years of relevant experience in the appropriate field.
- Chemistry: Applicants should have an MSc in Chemistry or a B.Sc. in Chemistry with 2 years of relevant experience in the appropriate field.
- Computer Science & Engineering/Information Technology: Candidates should possess a BE/B.Tech./Post Graduation in Computer Science & Engineering/Information Technology or an M.Sc. in Computer Science or Information Technology/MCA or a B.Sc. in Computer Science/BCA with 2 years of relevant experience in the appropriate field. Alternatively, a Diploma in Computer Science Engineering/Information Technology with 3 years of relevant experience is also accepted.
- Electronics & Communication Engineering/Electrical & Electronics Engineering/Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering/Instrumentation Engineering: Applicants should have a BE/B.Tech/Post Graduation in Electronics & Communication Engineering/Electrical & Electronics Engineering/Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering/Instrumentation Engineering. Alternatively, a three-year Diploma in Electronics & Communication Engineering/Electrical & Electronics Engineering/Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering/Instrumentation Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the appropriate field is also acceptable.
- Mechanical Engineering: Candidates should possess a BE/B.Tech/Post Graduation in Mechanical Engineering, or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 3 years of relevant experience in the appropriate field.
- Agricultural Engineering/Bio Technology: Applicants should have a BE/B.Tech/Post Graduation in Agricultural Engineering/Bio Technology, or a Diploma in Agricultural Engineering/Bio Technology with 3 years of relevant experience in the appropriate field.
- Engineering Physics/Electronics/Electronic Science/Instrumentation: Candidates should have a BE/B.Tech./Post Graduation in Engg. Physics/Electronics/Electronic Science/Instrumentation, or a Diploma in Engg. Physics/Electronics/Electronic Science/Instrumentation with 3 years of relevant experience in the appropriate field. Alternatively, an M.Sc. in Physics/Electronics/Electronic Science/Instrumentation, or a B.Sc. in Physics/Electronics/Electronic Science/Instrumentation with 2 years of relevant experience is also accepted.
- Civil Engineering: Applicants should possess a BE/B.Tech/Post Graduation in Civil Engineering, or a Diploma in Civil Engineering with 3 years of relevant experience in the appropriate field.
- Biotechnology/Life Science: Candidates should have a BE/B.Tech/Post Graduation in Biotechnology, or an M.Sc. in any branch of Life Science, or a B.Sc. in any branch of Life Science with 2 years of relevant experience in the appropriate field. Alternatively, a Diploma in Biotechnology with 3 years of relevant experience is also acceptable.
- Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation Engineering: Applicants should possess a BE/B.Tech/Post Graduation in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation Engineering, or a Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation Engineering with 3 years of relevant experience in the appropriate field.
2. Name of post: Junior Assistant
Number of vacancy: 13 vacancies
Distribution of posts is as follows: 7 for unreserved (UR) category, 2 for Scheduled Caste (SC), 3 for Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and 1 for Persons with Disabilities (PwD).
Age Limit: The maximum age limit for this position is 27 years. However, there is no upper age limit for regular employees of IIT Guwahati. Contractual employees will receive age relaxation as per the Institute's norms.
Pay Scale: pay level -3 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC).
Educational Qualification: essential qualification for this position is a Bachelor's Degree with knowledge of computer office applications.
Application Fee: Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee through online mode. The fee structure for different categories is as follows:
- SC/ST/PwD: ₹150/-
- UR/OBC: ₹300/-
- Women applicants are exempted from paying the application fee.
